Sublimation Process
Sublimation is a process where specialized dye transforms into a gas under high heat and pressure, bonding directly with polyester or polymer-coated surfaces. Unlike traditional printing, sublimation embeds the design into the fabric, resulting in a smooth, durable finish that won’t crack, peel, or fade over time. The process requires a design printed on sublimation paper using sublimation ink. When heat is applied, the ink becomes gaseous and permeates the fabric, ensuring vibrant, long-lasting results with intricate details and no texture.
Design and Print
A high-resolution design is printed onto special sublimation paper using sublimation inks. These inks are designed to turn into gas when exposed to heat, ensuring a seamless transfer.
Heat Transfer
The printed design is placed onto a polyester garment or polymer-coated item. Using a heat press, high temperature and pressure are applied, causing the ink to transform into a gas and bond with the fabric at a molecular level.
Finalization
Once the heat press cycle is complete, the sublimation paper is removed, revealing a vibrant, full-color design that is now permanently embedded into the material.
Cooling
The item is then allowed to cool, locking in the color and ensuring long-lasting durability.
